Steelers shopping Diontae Johnson?

Steelers, a team with many needs this offseason may be looking to trade WR Diontae Johnson. Johnson who has one year left in his contract likely won’t be getting another contract with the Steelers. He’s also been clear that he wants a big contract. Johnson already had moments where he wasn’t happy with the QB situation in Pittsburgh and was angry about the lack of targets. Pittsburgh media insiders also expect him to hold out this training camp due to the contract situation.

It’s a good idea for the Steelers to trade Johnson now which will save them 10 million in cap space and they can draft a receiver in the upcoming 2024 draft which is indeed loaded with Wide receivers. Steelers have also shown a lot of interest in receivers at the 2024 NFL combine meeting with several of the top receivers including Romeo Odunze, Brian Thomas, Troy Franklin & Adonai Mitchell. Steelers could acquire a second or third round draft pick for Johnson and then draft a receiver in the first or second round of the draft to replace him.
